How To Fill Cake Pops

Having trouble filling the pops? It takes a few items and some patience.

Items:
Cooked and Cooled Cake Pops (undecorated and preferably without the stick)
Wilton brand Bismarck tip No. 230 (looks like a really tall party hat, can be found at specialty shops)
Decorating Bags (uncut, disposable works well)
Filling of choice (ideas: jams, peanut butter, Nutella, frosting)

How To

Setting up the bag: Put the tip small side down into the bag. Cut off the tip of the bag so the small end sticks out of the bag, but so that pressure will not push the tip out. Fold the top of the bag outwards, then fill bag with your filling of choice.

Filling the Pops: Insert the tip into the Cake Pop and gently squeeze the bag (from the top down!) until the Cake Pop starts to bulge slightly. Gently pull the tip out. (You may squeeze gently as you pull the tip out, if you like) If decorating further, remove any excess filling from the outside of the pop and decorate as usual.

  1. Thanks so much for the tip. Filling with Nutella + AWESOME idea!!! I used my cakepop maker for the first time this morning. We had the breakfast cakes with cinnamon-sugar coating. My grandchildren & adults really enjoyed this treat. I look forward to surprising them with the filings.

  2. I was wondering the same thing as Melissa – is there any difficulty getting the sticks to stay in the filled cake pop? I’m thinking especially if trying to also coat with melted chocolate or something like that

  3.
