In making savory appetizers I found that, yes, it is non stick but sometimes leaves a crusty residue behind in the wells. Simply add about 1/2 tsp of water to each of the wells in a preheated machine and close lid for about 15-30 seconds. The water boils and steams each of the wells. Heads up, it does bubble out onto the counter a bit. Lift lid and let cool to warm and dump out any excess water and wipe with a damp cloth. All comes off with ease.
