When you said it was very messy to get in there you should try using a piping bag like used for decorating cakes.

Enjoying the machine!
After a lady at our Bingo club made these repeatedly, I just had to find one of these machines. Finally got one from Ebay as no-one sold them anywhere! I agree that it does get a little hot, but it did not burn any of my whoopie pies. The lighter color ones do brown, but they did not burn. Two minutes is an "estimate" on the cooking time...just need to watch them because sometimes it takes a little longer, sometimes not, but really not a problem since I'm standing there watching anyway. The pumpkin ones in the little booklet are scrumptions and EVERYONE loves them. Also did chocolate with a Devil's Food box mix and they turned out well also. Cute little gadget that's fun to use.

Doesn't cook well, come out ugly, waste of money
I got one of these at Kohls for 25$ or so and used it two times but these are so hard to make (and I cook/bake everything daily for my family). They come out ugly, not even and just plain not appetizing look to summarize. I would say, don't even waste money, it's been sitting in the box for two years now I think. I wish I returned it back then and put that money in a better use.

Um..
It gets VERY hot and the recommendation for the amount of batter was 1 tsp. but that was not enough at all. Getting it into the machine was very sloppy and messy. The whoopie pies cooked well though.

Great but not awesome
I found this machine at Marshall's for seven bucks!!!! The box was open already but it look like the maker wasn't used so I went ahead and got it. After reading these reviews the only thing I'm missing in the box is the mix. Anyhow... It heated fine - no issue with that, I've borrowed my sister mini cupcake machine and that got so hot I had to use a oven mitt! I just wish it didn't brown the mint green cake mix I used, and it seems as if its gonna brown all light color mixs:( My husband and son didn't mind the browning however. But next time ill just do dark colored mixes! Maybe Dutch chocolate with chocolate chips and a chocolate filling, maybe a red velvet... Which no one in my family are fans of. It's great for the price and I'm happy I got it!
